Driver Training Program

Trainee Eligibility & Levels

Level 1

  • Must be 23+ years of age with a current CDL A License.
  • Must have completed an accredited school in past 3 years.
  • Clean MVR/PSP score.
  • General knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.

Level 2

  • Must be 23+ years of age with a current CDL A License.
  • Must have completed an accredited school in past 3 years.
  • Clean MVR/PSP score.
  • General knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
  • More experience than level 1, but less than 1 year verifiable OTR experience.

Trainer Requirements

  • Must have been with Time Definite Services Inc. for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Clean driving record and psp score.
  • No preventable accidents or incidents.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT Rules & regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Hours of Service, Electronic Logs.
  • Must complete and turn in paperwork per Time Definite Services Inc. polices. (correctly and in a timely manner)
  • Must properly use carrier web, jobs tab, etc.
  • Must have the ability to get along well with others.

What to Expect

  • As a Level 1 trainee you will be learning all aspects of the trucking industry to include, paperwork, map reading, EOBR, DOT Rules & Regulations.
  • Defensive Driving, Mountain Driving, City Driving.
  • Bridge Law, how to move axles, proper pre trips/post trips, etc.
  • Level 1 means that a trainer will sit in the passenger seat while trainee is driving. He will observe and assist in any way necessary. Level 1 trainee will be working to build up his/her stamina to be able to drive 11 hours in a 14 hour day.
  • Once your stamina has been built up and you are able to operate the tractor/trailer in a manner that your trainer feels is safe and He/she can comfortably get in the sleeper berth while you are driving, you will advance to a Level 2.
  • As a Level 2 You are now able to run the EOBR, properly use Mobile com, map out your destination, and safely maneuver your tractor trailer in a safe professional manner.  
  • Your trainer is still with you to assist in any unplanned circumstances, etc.
  • Typically training will last up to 6 months. At that time you will run as a team with a partner for another 6 months.
